Turret, 2019

Turret is a solo-exhibition featuring augmented reality experiences and animations at R.I.C.A., Renann Isaacs Contemporary Art in Guelph, Ontario (August, 2019). Amongst the recent works included, are Norton’s experimentations using a 3D scan of her daughter, Edie Soleil, within animated environments of architectures and structures. Playfully drawing upon the impossible geometries and perspectives of Escher, as well as the 1941 short science fiction story “-And They Build a Crooked House-” by Robert A. Heinlein, the animated figure moves within a frozen moment in time, navigating a forever now.
